We have access to a PIONEER continuous flow Peptide Synthesis System instrument
(departmental equipment). Here we synthesize isotopically labeled fragments of the β2
microglobulin protein. |

| The BioCAD Sprint HPLC (departmental equipment) is used to purify our synthetic
peptides. |

This HP 8452A UV/Vis is used to confirm fibril formation in solution via
observation of a red-shift of the congo red spectrum upon binding to amyloid fibrils. |

| Here is our 359.5 MHz widebore NMR magnet (8.44 T) with a 3 channel Tecmag
Apollo console. It does not have a lock channel, so it is primarily suitable only for
solid-state NMR experiments. |

Our homebuilt two channel (HX) Magic Angle Spinning probe for the 360 MHz
widebore magnet. It has a 3.2mm stator which will spin the sample at speeds of up to 24 kHz.
The probe is removed from the magnet for a sample change and is then returned into the
magnet from below. |

| Filters, duplexer (passive switch), directional couplers and signal pre-amplifier
for each NMR frequency. |

The HP8712ET spectrum analyzer is used for testing during the manufacture
of probes and other homebuilt RF devices. It can also be used for tuning the probe. |
