Prof. O'Bannon is a fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers, and

• served in the committee leadership on the Technical Committee on Hydrologic Transport and Dispersion within the Hydraulics Division from 1990-1994 (now the Environmental Hydraulics Committee),
• she was named a Fellow of ASCE in April 2005,
• is a corresponding editor for the Journal of Professional Issues in Engineering Education and Practice.
